― Dr. Seuss, Happy Birthday to You!

Gratitude!

Happy MONDAY! TGIM!

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

“Gratitude paints little smiley faces on everything it touches.”

~ Richelle E. Goodrich
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: I have always had a slight fascination with smiley faces.  And so this quote made me smile inside.  I might have even chuckled out loud when I read it.

November has always been a special month for me.  My birthday is in November.  Thanksgiving is in November.  And it looks like the weather is finally getting cooler here in Austin, Texas, which is a general plus as far as I am concerned.

November signifies we have two months left in the year.  And what a CRAZY year this has been.

November also signifies a focus on gratitude.   In the past, it has been beneficial, fun, and meaningful to focus on gratitude for most of the month.

What are you grateful for today?
What is on your gratitude list?

AFFIRMATIONS OF THE DAY:

1) Gratitude grounds me to the present moment.
2) Gratitude reminds me of all of my blessings.
3) I joyfully embrace each new day with gratitude.

Do you love your body?

Happy MONDAY! TGIM!

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

“Your words have so much power. Every day, if you tell yourself ‘I love you,’ if you give yourself one word of validation, it will change your mind.” — Ashley Graham

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Do you love your body?

 If our thoughts are powerful enough to affect everything we do, then how do we think about our bodies?   Do we give them enough love? Do we give them enough rest? And finally do we give them enough healthy foods, water, exercise and fresh air?

I think if you do you will find that your body can be a pleasant place to live.  Happy Monday!

AFFIRMATIONS OF THE DAY:

1. I love my body, just the way it is.
2. My body is the perfect size, shape and weight.
3. I give my body what it wants.
4. My body is healthy, strong, and radiant.
5. I treat my body like royalty.

Don’t be normal…

Happy MONDAY! TGIM!

QUOTE OF THE DAY: “If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be.”  ~ Maya Angelou

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: This quote simply reminds me to be myself.  I am unique and so are you.  Everyone else is already taken so you might as well be you, because you are amazing.  If you tell yourself you are amazing you will be amazing.  God does not create junk.  He created you with special talents and abilities that no one else has.  Go celebrate the gift of today and go out into the world and be your amazing self.

Does anyone have any more thoughts on this quote?

AFFIRMATIONS OF THE DAY:

1) My life is a gift. I will use this gift with confidence, joy and exuberance.

2) I approve of myself. I love myself deeply and fully.

Motivation is what gets you started….

Happy MONDAY! TGIM!

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

Motivation is what gets you started.
Habit is what keeps you going. ~ Jim Ryun

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Let’s face it, I am not always motivated to workout, to write this blog, or to do what I need to do with my life.  But somewhere along the way, I developed some discipline.

I am disciplined in my workouts in that I go to workout even if I don’t totally feel like it.  I usually end up feeling better even if the workout was super hard.  It helps me feel accomplished for the day.

I am disciplined enough to send you this blog every Monday.  I thank God for this brand new day and this brand new Monday.  I thank you for this opportunity to share this with you today.

One of my friends says, “Tough times don’t last, tough people do.”

I hope on this beautiful Monday you have some good habits in place to get you through the day.  I hope this Monday you have some good habits in place that will help you feel good about yourself and your life.

AFFIRMATIONS OF THE DAY:

1) Motivation is what gets you started.  Habit is what keeps you going.
2) I am disciplined and motivated today.
3) I have healthy habits that guide my life.

Happy MONDAY! TGIM!

QUOTE OF THE DAY: The meaning of life is to find your gift.  The purpose of life is to give it away.  ~Pablo Picasso

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: One of my gifts is the gift of encouragement.  I can generally encourage people pretty easily and in a way that they specifically need it.  I try to generally do this every time I send out an e-mail.  And it is my hope that you are encouraged when you read this every Monday.  If you need some additional encouragement send me an email.

Do you know what your gifting is?  Do you try and give it away?  Let me know your thoughts on this quote or any of the others I send out.

AFFIRMATIONS OF THE DAY:

1) Every day I expand and share my special talents with others.
2) I acknowledge my strengths and use these daily to my best ability.
3) I am incredibly grateful for all my talents and abilities.

A walk in nature…

Happy MONDAY! TGIM!

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

“A walk in nature, walks the soul back home.”

~ Mary Davis

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: On Saturday, my friends and I and our children went on a 2 hour hike.  Oh my gosh, that was so good for my soul.  The trail was a pretty cool trail that I had not been to before.  It has some nice views but there is something about being surrounded by trees and just walking in the nature that was healing and grounding.  The distance we traveled was not that important although we did go about 3.5 miles.  It was a great low-impact exercise.  I got to talk to my friends and the kids loved it as well.  They joyfully ran ahead most of the entire hike.  They wanted to be the leaders.

How was your weekend?  Did you do anything that was good for your soul?  Reply back and share it with me.

AFFIRMATIONS OF THE DAY:

1) A hike in the woods heals my soul.
2) Walking is a great form of exercise.
3) Nature is a great healer.

Your beliefs…

Happy MONDAY! TGIM!

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

Your beliefs become your thoughts,

Your thoughts become your words,

Your words become your actions,

Your habits become your values,

Your values become your destiny.

~ Mahatma Gandi

Do good anyway…

Happy MONDAY! TGIM!

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

People are often unreasonable, irrational and self-centered;
        Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
        Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies;
        Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and sincere, people may deceive you;
        Be honest and sincere anyway.
What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight;
        Create anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous;
        Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, will often be forgotten;
        Do good anyway.
Give the best you have, and it may never be enough;
        Give your best anyway.
In the final analysis, it is between you and God;
        It was never between you and them anyway.

~Mother Teresa

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Sometimes in life you don’t want to do things, but you have to do things anyway.

For example, sometimes working out is hard.  Do it anyway.
Sometimes loving other people is hard.  Do it anyway.
Sometimes working on yourself is hard.  Do it anyway.
Sometimes being a parent is hard.  Do it the best you can and do it anyway.

Sometimes eating healthy can be a challenge.  Plan your meals.  Follow the plan and do your best.  Do it anyway.

Sometimes life is not going to work out the way you want it to.  Don’t give up and do it anyway.  Get up the next day and give it your best shot.  Make changes and get help when you need it.

If at first you don’t succeed.  Try, try, again.

You have love and light inside of you.
You are worth it.
Take the next best step in your life and let’s have a great Monday.

AFFIRMATIONS OF THE DAY:

1) Feel the fear and do it anyway.
2) I am so grateful for my life and all its blessings.

3) I love and accept myself just the way I am.

Regular exercise…a magic potion?

Happy MONDAY! TGIM!

QUOTE OF THE DAY:
“When it comes to health and well-being, regular exercise is about as close to a magic potion as you can get.”
~ Tich Nhat Hanh

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: I don’t always feel like exercising.  I don’t always feel motivated to exercise.  But usually, after I do exercise I feel better.  The exercising I am doing these days includes two days of Camp Gladiator a week along with about 4 or 5 times riding my bike.

Camp Gladiator’s Birthday is being celebrated this week on September 1st and for $9 you can join and get 4 weeks of virtual classes and in-person classes.

I like Camp Gladiator because it helps me move my body in different ways than traditional running or biking does.  We move sideways.  We lift dumbbell weights.  We strengthen our legs, arms, and core.  And not only that but a certified personal trainer is out there with you cheering you on and correcting your form.  Camp Gladiator workouts have been working for me for years now and I would strongly recommend you check it out if you have not done so already.

You can fill out this form: https://bit.ly/2PXKTrl  or you can contact me on September 1st and I can get you a link to sign up.

Exercise gives you endorphins.  The quote today says it’s like a magic potion that helps you feel better.

Here are some other things you can do to feel healthy that I saw recently from Jack Canfield

In short, they are: practice meditation, listen to calming music or sounds, exercise, laugh, and use essential oils.

AFFIRMATIONS OF THE DAY:
1) Today I will exercise my body and experience the full benefits that it offers.
2) Today is a great day to be alive.
3) Exercise is fun.
