Happy New Year from Matt’s Motivational Monday!

Happy MONDAY! TGIM!

QUOTE OF THE DAY:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
― Marianne Williamson, A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of “A Course in Miracles”

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

Welcome to your last email of 2021 and what a year it has been! WHEW!

I like this quote above because growing up I got some subtle messages such as,
“don’t take up too much space” and “don’t put your needs on other people.”

I am slowly and continually healing from these messages.

I like this quote today because it encourages me to continue to share my light and to believe that I can be great.

I hope that in 2022 you can find some hope.

I hope that in 2022 you can find community.

I hope that in 2022 you can make new friends and strengthen your support network.

In 2022, I hope that you can find love and that you can love yourself.

Because in the end, it’s all about love.

AFFIRMATIONS OF THE DAY:

1)
I love those around me and I love myself.
2) I happily give and receive love each day.
3) Each day I am so grateful for how loved I am and how much people care about me.

Happy New Year to all you amazing people!

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

The holidays are the best time of year to reach out to our loved ones with greetings and warm wishes. This Christmas season, I’m thinking of you and wishing you a fresh New Year for beautiful dreams and hopeful goals.

I am full of peace and gratitude for this past year.  It sure did not go as planned.  But, I got to spend more time with my family and find truly special moments with my kids and my wife.

As a whole, the year 2021 had some great highs, and some low lows.  It has some really cool moments and plenty of failures and not very comfortable moments.

Thanks so much for being part of Matt’s Motivational Monday.

I appreciate you reading this email and spreading the joy.

Feel free to share the good news this Christmas and throughout the year about Jesus and about how the God of the universe loves you and has a plan for your life.  Feel free to tell your friends, family, co-workers about my website, and my email list.

Merry Christmas!

Enjoy your time with your friends and family this holiday season (if you are gathering with them)

AFFIRMATIONS OF THE DAY:

1) I allow the joy of this season to fill my heart and propel me into a prosperous new year!
2) When I make Christmas about sharing rather than getting, I always feel better.
3) Today I feel the joy of the season. Today I feel the peace of the season. Today I feel the love of the season.

God Bless and Merry Christmas!

March to the beat of your own drum

Happy MONDAY! TGIM!

QUOTE OF THE DAY: “March to the beat of your own drum.”

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
A lot of people don’t get it.
They wonder why I wake up so early.
They wonder why I run so much or work out so much.

I just like working on myself.
I just like to win the morning so I can win the day.
I just like to run.
I just like the quiet stillness of the morning.

“Your playing small does not serve the world.  Who are you not to be great?” ~ Nelson Mandela

I think that if there is anything in your life that you think you were meant to do, any dream or goal you have for your life and you are not going after it, and you are not making small steps towards it, then every day you don’t do that, you are selling yourself short.

Don’t play small.

I mean if you have a purpose in this life, if your heart is beating then go out and do that thing.  Listen, life is short and goes by way too fast to be wasting on just existing or just getting through the day.

Don’t play small.  You have greatness within you.

Maybe someone is watching you and waiting for you to do that thing so that they can go do that thing or they can do their own thing.

“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”
~ Wayne Dyer

I pray that you win the day.  That is my greatest wish!

Stop Worrying. Start Living.

Happy MONDAY! TGIM!

QUOTE OF THE DAY: “Stop worrying and start living” ~ Dale Carnegie.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: I was listening to this youtube video the other day and it has some great stuff to say.  It’s kind of long, but even listening to the first couple of minutes is really good.

The video is here:
START WITH GOD | 1 Hour Powerful Motivation – Inspirational & Motivational Video

Some of the things the video says in the first 10-15 minutes are things like this:

Worrying proves that you don’t believe God can take care of you.
Worry is faith in fear.
Worry is a polluted stream that flows through your brain draining hope and optimism.
Worry is believing in your own personal defeat and despair.

Even the Bible has something to say about this.

Matthew 6:25-34 NIV “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

Fear not.

Believe in the power of your dreams.
Believe in yourself.
Believe that you are making the right choices.
Believe that things are going to work out for you.
Believe that you are doing your best.
Believe in God.  Trust that He has the best in mind for you.

Let’s stop worrying and start living.
