Mondays are for Fresh Starts!

QUOTE OF THE DAY: Mondays are for fresh starts!

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Maybe you have fallen off the bandwagon in your health, fitness, yoga, or meditation game.  Maybe your regular routine has gotten off a bit.

Welcome to your fresh new day.  Welcome to your fresh new start.  Welcome to this thing we call Monday.  Thank God it’s Monday!

Because it is Monday, I hope you can put your best foot forward and shine and get back on track.  Maybe you took a vacation and your eating got a little off track.  OR maybe you had a little too much fun this weekend.  Whatever the case might be, let’s start off fresh with a new week and a new day and a new Monday.

One of the simplest and most powerful ways you can start your day off right is by being thankful.

Here is a great article on the power of being thankful.

Benefits of Gratitude

You’re a ROCK STAR!

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: There is no one like you.  You are a rock star!  There is no one else who has the same unique fingerprints as you.  There is no one who can put thoughts and ideas together quite like you do.  Own your own uniqueness.  You are special.  The world needs your uniqueness.  You are amazing.  You are wonderfully made.  You are a rock star.  Follow your own internal wisdom and your own internal radar.  Live this day as if it were your last day.  Let’s rock this day.  Did I tell you, you are a rock star today?  Because if I did not then I meant to.  I tried to say it a couple of different ways. I hope you get the idea.

Happy Monday! TGIM!

With thanksgiving and gratitude,
From Matt

1) The Universe has my back
2) I radiate positive energy
3) I am a rock star

Our deepest fear is….

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Life is an adventure – go live it!

Find your purpose and run towards it with all that you have!  Attack the day with vigor and enthusiasm.  Tell yourself you are amazing and you can accomplish amazing things!

You are a rock star!

Life can be an adventure if you believe in the beauty of your dreams.  Do not give up on those dreams that are inside of you and that you can not stop thinking about.

Be grateful that you get to live another day.  Today is a great day to be alive.

Now go out there and go after what is yours in the universe.

Your playing small does not serve the world.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life.
How are you going to show up in the world today?

Think of one small step you can take today to accomplish your goal or dream.  Go do that one thing today. We only get to live so many tomorrows.  The time will pass in the same way whether you are pursuing something amazing or not.

Go live today’s adventure that is waiting for you and go become the person you were intended to be.

Happy Monday!

1. I am a unique child of this world.
2. I have as much brightness to offer the world as the next person.
3.  I matter and what I have to offer this world also matters.

Thomas Edison

“Genius is one percent inspiration, ninety-nine percent perspiration.” – Thomas Edison

Today’s thought for the day comes from Brian Johnson with Optimize.  For more information click here
In our last +1, we had fun exploring the origin story of WD-40. As you may recall, our super-lubricant was named after the number of attempts it took for its creator to figure out a viable concoction to prevent corrosion.
In fact, as we discussed, according to WD-40 company lore, “WD-40® literally stands for Water Displacement, 40th formula. That’s the name straight out of the lab book used by the chemist who developed the product back in 1953.”
I was thinking about that line on the Trail this morning. I could actually see our chemist-friend in his lab dutifully going through experiment after experiment after experiment (x40) in search of a formula that worked.
In my mind’s eye, he’s wearing a lab coat. He’s got a bunch of beakers full of a bunch of weird bubbling stuff. Goggles on. Clipboard on the desk.
Testing different things. Seeing what works. See what doesn’t work.
The 39 formulas that didn’t work? Those weren’t failures per se. They were just data.
Which makes me think of Edison. What did he say about failures again…?
Enter: Google.
“Edison failure quotes.”
Enter: A goldmine of gems from Goodreads.
First, the gem I was looking for. In the context of figuring out the light bulb, Edison is said to have said: “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”
And, while we’re all hanging out, how about a few more wisdom gems from Edison?!
He says: “Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.”
And: “We often miss opportunity because it’s dressed in overalls and looks like work.” ← Hah. Love that one. And this one: “Genius is one percent inspiration, ninety-nine percent perspiration.”
Plus: “When you have exhausted all possibilities, remember this—you haven’t.”
And: “Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.”
That’s Today’s +1.
Let’s put on our lab coats and go run some more experiments.
Run enough and the truth of this final Edisonian wisdom-gem may come to fruition: “If we all did the things we are really capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves.”

I am fearless
I take action now
I am liberated from fear of failure
I am confident and determined
I keep pushing until I succeed
I stay persistent even when faced with failure
I accept challenges with enthusiasm and confidence
